Is it Week 14?

Weather being kinder today, even a bit of sunshine.  Plasterer here - the house is turning white!!!  

Not a lot of action here at moment - the Rendalath people have not been seen since they came and put up the insulation.  

We are having to make decisions about the interior work.  Waiting for a couple more quotes before we make final decision.  And then, can we dream, we might be in residence in June..... 

More to come later today.

Not much news today!

Lots of adjustments to door surrounds today.

Floor in new bedroom has had a screed and sealant laid, so pics of it tomorrow's when its has dried.

Waiting for quotes for the interior work and dreaming of moving in............

I think I have had enough of building so glad it is the weekend and I am getting a massage tomorrow and going down the coast on Sunday to meet up with some friends for lunch

WEDNESDAY 3rd April - frosty start, but bright and sunny

Some really heavy work gone on today - and only one pinched finger.......
and the whole place is now wind and watertight.  What a splendid effort the guys have made today.

And the 'rendermen' are here too - putting on the rockwool on the N.W. side of the house ready for the render to go on.  

At last it is warm enough to carry out this work, but it is still biting cold - no T-shirt work today.

WEEK 13 - Easter has been and gone - and weather is lightly warmer today - Tuesday 2nd April

Mark was working hard over weekend, taking down old insulation in the ceilings and some breeze block work that was part of the old wardrobe - then we had a nice trip to the dump to dispose of the insulation....... quiet for an Easter Monday afternoon.

Found remnants of a previous inhabitant of the house in the ceiling behind the chimney.

THURSDAY - 28th March

The snow melted this a.m. and it has become much milder - lot of work today, no frozen thumbs.

Next step, the interiors - hopefully we will get remaining ceilings down over weekend, and will have quotes for the internals and the plumbing (which has some queries/problems about the gas supply in to the house).


And the really big job of putting in the sliding doors.  And the render - if the weather stays like today, then it should start after Easter.

Everyone who was here at the weekend thought it was going to be wonderful once it is finished, and were surprised how big the house appears.

WEDNESDAY 27th March - second post

WEDNESDAY - first post as I hope to have some pics later.

Have been busy having big birthday celebrations - but not a lot of work has been able to be done as it is so cold and now snowy.

The windows arrived on Friday and were safely tucked up for the weekend in waterproof wrapping.

Monday work was taking place elsewhere - but the team were back on site yesterday and have got the first, corner, window in.

Architect is coming today to look at it.  Then later today the plumber is coming with a specialist to see about running the gas supply around the house, rather than through it.

FRIDAY - second day of spring and it is sooooo cold
